Electric Toothbrush RFQ Checklist: What to Send a Manufacturer

Use this electric toothbrush RFQ checklist to define product specifications, customization, quantity context, target market, compliance, samples, tooling, QC, and timing.

A useful RFQ does not need to be long. It needs to give the manufacturer enough information to understand what you are trying to buy, what still needs to be evaluated, and what should be included in the response.

The clearer the scope, the easier it is to compare quotations.

1. Explain the Project in One Paragraph

Include who you are, what product you are sourcing, target market, intended cooperation route if known, and current project stage.

2. Define the Product Type and Key Specifications

Depending on the project, include sonic/rotary direction, key performance targets, modes/programs, pressure feedback, battery, charging, waterproof requirement, brush head, size, or appearance constraints.

If you do not know an answer, say the item is open for supplier recommendation.

3. Explain the Customization Scope

State whether you expect changes to logo, color, finish, packaging, accessories, feature configuration, housing, internal structure, tooling, or other project-specific development.

See Private Label vs OEM vs ODM for Electric Toothbrush Brands if the cooperation route is still unclear.

4. Include Quantity Context

If known, give sample quantity, initial order estimate, annual forecast, or a realistic target-volume range.

Do not invent a number just to receive a quote.

5. State the Target Market and Compliance Needs

Tell the supplier where the product will be sold and ask which requirements/documents apply to the proposed model/configuration.

Use Electric Toothbrush Compliance: What Buyers Should Verify Before Sourcing to prepare the compliance questions.

6. Explain Your Sample or Prototype Need

Clarify what you want to evaluate, how many units you need, whether branding is required, whether the prototype must reflect final tooling, and the delivery destination.

7. Ask for Commercial Information Against the Same Scope

Useful items may include MOQ, unit-price basis, sample/prototype cost, tooling cost where applicable, packaging inclusion, lead-time basis, payment terms, Incoterms, and quotation validity.

The purpose is to make sure each quotation clearly states what it includes.

8. Ask Separate Questions About Development and Mass Production

Ask separately about standard sample preparation, project-specific prototype work, tooling, development timing, and production timing after approval.

9. Compare Quotations on the Same Basis

Do not turn quotation comparison into a market-price benchmark.

Instead, check whether each supplier quoted the same specification, configuration, tooling assumption, packaging, compliance scope, and included services.

A lower number may simply exclude something another supplier included.

10. Add Quality and Project Questions

Ask about sample approval, QC stages, testing for the proposed model, project ownership, change control, and documentation before production. Use Quality Control in Electric Toothbrush Manufacturing: What Buyers Should Check for the deeper buyer-side QC framework.

11. Copyable RFQ Brief Structure

Company / Brand: Target Market: Product Type: Project Route: Existing platform / Private Label / OEM / ODM / Open to recommendation Key Specifications: Customization Scope: Sample / Prototype Requirement: Initial Order Estimate: Annual Forecast (if available): Packaging Requirement: Compliance Requirement: Target Timing: Questions for Supplier: MOQ / Price / Sample / Tooling / Lead Time / Packaging / Compliance / QC / Project Process

12. Send the Brief When It Is Clear Enough to Be Evaluated

You do not need a perfect specification before contacting a manufacturer. You do need enough structure for the supplier to tell you what is confirmed and what still needs evaluation.

GEEKO Project Notes

GEEKO supports product sample evaluation for B2B projects. Sample availability, configuration, cost, and courier arrangements are confirmed according to the actual project. Where a sample preparation / ready-time estimate is provided, 3–7 days may be used only as a preparation / ready-time reference and must not be presented as a fixed international delivery period. Current typical GEEKO project ranges are 30–45 days for OEM and 60–90 days for ODM development, subject to project scope and excluding a fixed international-logistics promise.
